Surya

Jahaj kothi, Hisar

Surya is represented with two arms in this sculpture, although the right side exhibits damage. He is adorned with tall boots, referred to as (Upanat- Upanat Padayuglam). Surya holds long-stemmed lotuses in full bloom, which extend to his shoulders. His waist is accentuated by an intricate girdle known as Avyanga. The figure is richly ornamented, signifying his royal status. The crown is elaborately carved, enhancing his regal appearance. Above him, celestial beings are depicted holding garlands, while the lower section features four attendants in a Tribhanga posture, comprising two males and two females.
