Jahaj kothi, Hisar
This fragment of a temple door jamb features an elaborately carved stone panel, likely originating from the Rashtrakuta period, as indicated by the artistic style that reflects the era's sophisticated and refined traditions. The panel is segmented into four vertical sections (Shakhas), each embellished with numerous registers depicting figures and floral designs. Within two of these Shakhas, representations of Mithuna couples are prominently displayed, illustrating their affection for one another, primarily depicted in the Sammukha posture. The remaining two Shakhas are adorned with decorative Latashakha elements. The overall composition of the door jamb is distinguished by its high relief carving, showcasing intricate figures and motifs.
