Bhima Devi Temple Site Museum, Pinjore
Indra is seen here sitting on airavata (white elephant) with head portion missing. Deity is shown with four hands but due to abrasion rest features are unclear. Indra holds a vajra (thunderbolt) as his weapon in hand. The thunderbolt of Indra is called Bhaudhara. The inverted lotus decoration is visible below the pillared niche of deity. On the right side of main sculpture an elephant is visible adjoining the pillar in lower portion and a vyal (anthropomorphic being) is visible on the upper portion. The ancient text Rigveda has the most number of hymns devoted to Indra.
