Description

This decorative brass dome shows fine carving on a curved surface- with ribbing visible along the dome. One also must consider the decoration at the top as well as the edges of the dome, overlaid by a band. The apex of the dome is also surmounted by a smaller dome-like protrusion. The decorative dome rests upon an octagonal base, which lies upon a square plinth. It is likely that this formed a decorative accent upon an architectural structure.
